Why does it seem that we spend so much of our time wishing for something else?  When we were kids, we couldn’t wait until we were tall enough to be able to ride the roller coasters.  Then when we were teens, we couldn’t wait until we could drive.  As we got older, we couldn’t wait until we could get a job and earn our own money to get the things we wanted.  Now when we’ve been working a while, we can’t wait until retirement so we can wake up when we want and finally be free to do whatever we want.  But maybe that’s just me?

I’ve been looking back at times in the past and wishing that I could go back and relive them.  I’m trying to slow down and make sure that I enjoy where I am in life now.  It’s difficult when things are going poorly but I believe it’s worth it in the long run.  I’m hoping I get to a ripe old age and can look back and smile at memories along the way.  Not regretting that I rushed through experiences trying to get to the next one.  Life is a series of good and bad events and it’s important to move through the events at a pace that works positively for you so you can enjoy the rhythm of your life.
